Oh, what hath "Oh Sherrie" wrought...
It's amazing, the things you come with as a teenager, and how they continue to carry on in your adult life.
These are the infamous "Seven Kingdoms" fan tales, originally posted on the Journey Digest way back in 1994/1995.
The Kingdoms had its start around 1992, when I based a Dungeons & Dragons campaign on Steve Perry's "Oh Sherrie" video ("What about the kidnapping of the princess, the Flaming Forest of Doom, the battle to the death between good & evil...?"). In 1994, there was a contest for the best tale on "how Journey would get back together", shortly after Steve Perry put out "For The Love of Strange Medicine". Envisioning the Digest getting flooded by sentimental Mary-Sue romantics, I decided I would send in a different kind of weirdness. I found the notes from that old game campaign, D&D and Journey collided, and it's spiraled out of control ever since.
Most of what is posted here are teasers, though there are a few whole stories scattered here and there. To get the whole stories, you need to email me with your request.
Anyway, "The Tales" will get you both the Kingdoms stories and some of the non-Kingdoms' tales I've written. "RPG World" is a site that I put up when I started playing Dungeons & Dragons again recently, and wanted to give my players an ongoing reference into the world of Kern & Chulain. "Scribbles" is my second "blog" area, where I've posted outtakes, drabbles, and in-progress works that don't currently rate their own page on the Shrine. Have fun exploring!
