Don't panic. You're safe.

A long, long time ago, I was drawing a comic strip ("New Angst") for a now-defunct Pagan humor magazine, "Out of the Broom Closet", put out by the Coven of The Celestial Tides in Athens OH. The strip focused on the stupidity, inanity, and out-and-out ridiculousness that sometimes runs amok in the Neo-Pagan/Wiccan community.

At one point, the strip needed some down-at-the-heels rock musicians, and Journey got drawn in to the chaos. After all, I had so many pics of these guys, it just seemed natural to base those rockers on Journey. However, the magazine died before those strips were ever published, and they languished in my portfolio archive for a long while.

Then, back in 2004, a bad Journey Christmas pun exchange between me & Barb Stearns of the Journey Library led to a giggly fit of inspiration and a badly drawn one-shot strip for "The Journey 12 Days of Xmas", which was offered as a Yule gift to fans on BackTalk, The Journey Digest, and the Steve Perry Digest. That one-off led to the Evolution/Arrival Xmas Cards the following year, and The U.A.S.S.U.H.O. Journey was born.

Three things I've learned: The Journey Guys make great Muppets, Real Life is Odder Than Cartooning, and Steve Perry is just too damn easy a target. Or just too easy. Oh, and VERY fun to draw.
